Valladares, one of Mexico’s most respected corporate communications professionals, will assume this role on January 1, 2013. She has more than 25 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing and journalism. Most recently, she worked at Sony Mexico as the director for both the communications and marketing functions. Additionally, the firm appointed Guido Gaona as Chief Operating Officer of Burson-Marsteller Mexico. Valladares began her career in journalism, serving as an editor at La Jornada and UPI and as a news producer at CBS Telenoticias. She also served as the Mexico editor at Reuters, where she was responsible for overseeing all coverage within the country. Valladares later moved to The Coca-Cola Company where she spent 10 years, including five years as the director of communications for Mexico. In her new role, Valladares will work alongside Gaona to lead and support the office’s team of communication professionals. Gaona, has been with Burson-Marsteller for more than 12 years.
