Hong Kong, February 4, 2009 – Burson-Marsteller, a leading global public relations and public affairs consultancy, has appointed Mr. Sahala Sianipar as the Managing Director of its Corporate/Financial Practice in Asia Pacific, based out of Singapore. Prior to taking up his new regional role, Mr. Sianipar successfully orchestrated the firm’s re-entry into the Indonesian market as Director of South Asia and Market Leader Indonesia.
Regional CEO and President of Burson-Marsteller Asia Pacific, Mr. Simon Pangrazio said that Mr. Sianipar has the right mix of experience and expertise to continue to play a key role in developing Burson-Marsteller’s business in Indonesia in addition to building the firm’s regional Corporate/Financial Practice.
“Sahala’s deep corporate, financial and public affairs experience and expertise have played an important role in many client assignments in Southeast Asia and across our region. In his new role, Sahala will drive the collaborative development of corporate/financial opportunities across the region,” Mr. Pangrazio said.
A native of Indonesia, Mr. Sianipar commenced his career with Burson-Marsteller in Jakarta after graduating with Masters Degrees in International Studies and Organizational Communications from Ohio University in the USA. He went on to gain experience in both the public and private sectors before returning to the firm in 2006. Based in Singapore since 2000, Mr. Sianipar has more than 14 years experience in public affairs, advocacy, corporate and financial communications, new market entry, corporate responsibility and crisis management.
