CFO, Latin America

Irene De Sousa is the Latin America Regional CFO for Burson-Marsteller.

She is responsible for the financial management of ten B-M offices in the Latin America region and works with the regional finance team to ensure sustainable profitable growth.

Irene brings extensive experience in senior financial roles in Latin America, US and Canada. She also has experience in US GAAP & IFRS consolidation rules, management reporting, strategic planning, project and investment management, balance scorecards and management of internal and external audit processes. She enjoys partnering with revenue producing teams by providing strategic direction and business solutions to ensure profitability.

Irene came to Burson-Marsteller in 2009 as a Regional Controller for the Latin America region. Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller in March 2009, she worked 12 years for the Hilti Corporation and held several leadership positions such as Finance Director/Controller for Hilti North America, Finance Controller for the Latin America region; Finance Director of Hilti Mexico and Finance Director for the Andean region (Venezuela, Colombia and Peru).

Irene began her financial career in Venezuela with the coordination council of Mendoza’es Enterprises where she worked 9 years in different organizations of the conglomerate.

Irene is from Venezuela, and she and her family enjoy the sunny weather in the South Florida area.
