Tappan Returns to Private Sector

Robert Tappan, principal deputy assistant secretary of state for public affairs, is going private sector next month when he moves to Burson-Marsteller as president of its Washington office. Tappan, who ran his own communications shop before joining the State Department about four years ago, also served six months in Iraq as director of the Coalition Provisional Authority's Office of Strategic Communications.
