Burson-Marsteller recently held a Crisis Communications symposium in London for clients and other industry leaders. The meeting focused on how large organizations can prepare for and deal with a substantial crisis. Former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff was the event's keynote speaker. Burson-Marsteller has a strategic partnership with the Chertoff Group, Sec. Chertoff's security consulting firm.
Burson-Marsteller also presented the findings from a study it conducted in partnership with its sister-firm Penn, Schoen and Berland, which asked European executives about their experiences dealing with a significant crisis.
The key take away from the research and Sec. Chertoff's speech: Be Prepared.
See below a presentation of the crisis studies top line findings and an excerpt from the Chertoff speech.
